Module Overview

Having good Governance is an important condition for a healthy developing and transparent ministry. This can be different in the development of the organization. Also knowing the conditions in your nation that needs to be fulfilled. We walk through the different roles, the Board and the ND have to play. How they can collaborate and knowing each other’s expectations. Accountability is an important condition for the ministry. This all to develop a flourishing and strategic ministry in reaching young kids for Jesus.

Module Content

In this module we will consider how:

Governance is developing in different stages of the ministry. From grassroots to good governance boards.
There are different roles to be fulfilled (Fiduciary; Strategic; Generative roles) and how to deepen these.
They can collaborate in a positive way, understanding accountability and knowing the expectations each have.
To plan all these activities in an ordered way.
What reports are needed to be involved on different levels (from operational to strategic).

Module Outcomes:

As a result of completing this module you will:

Understand the different development stages of the ministry and the Board that’s needed.
Confidently articulate the particular roles and responsibilities of the board in good Governance;
Understand a Board member can have different hats (Board and volunteer)
Understand how the Board (Chair) can collaborate with the National Director
Know how to develop a Strategic plan and understands the role of the Board and the ND with their staff.
Understand how the Board can work and develop as a team
Know what is required for developing a healthy board that uses committees and creates an on-going Standards Policy Folder.
Knowing which reports that needs to be prepared and by whom, all within policy guidelines provided by the Standing Policies document which are created by the board.
Appreciate the importance of working in collaboration with the YFCI Area/Regional leadership
