Module Overview:

There’s a saying: ‘If you don’t know to which harbour you are sailing, every wind is OK’. So, it’s important to know where you want to go to. As YFCI we have a vision and mission. That gives us direction in reaching a new generation for Jesus. But there are so many choices and priorities. What’s the task of the Board and the Director? The world of young people is changing all the time. What’s the Lord’s plan for you and your ministry? In this module we will support you in finding the golden circle: ‘Why’, ‘How’ and ‘What’ for your ministry. How to develop a structured way of strategic ministry planning. Using your means in an effective and efficient way.

Module Content:
In this module we will consider how:

You can describe the seven steps of ‘Why’ and for whom, there’s YFCI and/or YFC in your nation.
You can develop a strategy, answering the ‘How’ you are fulfilling your vision and mission.
You can create Objective Key Results for your ministry (OKR’s), knowing the ‘What’

Module Outcome:
As a result of completing this module you will:

Know how to develop a Strategic Ministry Plan, understand whom to include in the process, and in the meantime how you can pursue God’s will together.
Understand how important it is to know the ‘Why’ of your ministry. Knowing your vision, mission and core values and developing a ‘Finish-photo’ of your ministry
Know how to develop the ‘How’ by having a real picture of the actual situation, making a SWOT analysis and developing a plan for the (near) future, which will be helpful to focus your ministry.
Know and understand how to develop the ‘what’ by developing Objective Key Results. This is to focus the ministry and use your means in an effective and efficient way.

E.J., a South African, who is married to Koekoes, started with YFC in 1997 in Angola as a staff member, then moved to YFC Namibia where he became the team trainer. In 2002 he became the National Director for YFC Botswana. In 2008 he became the Regional Director for the Southern Region in Africa. In 2014 he took over the role as Training Director for Africa. His passion is to see young people reached and that the staff of YFC is equipped to effectively complete this task.
